
The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay HC has sought details of complaints against Gokulchand Sananda, prominent money-lender from Khamgaon in Buldana district of Vidarbha and father of Congress MLA Dilip Sananda.
A directive to this effect was issued by the bench comprising Justices Kishor Rohi and C L Pangarkar while hearing a petition filed by farmer Sarangdhar Chavan from Hingna-Koregaon village in the district. The Buldana Collector and SP as well as the Chief and Home Secretaries of the state are respondents in the case.
In Buldana, police have about 31 complaints registered against Sananda8217;s father Gokulchand, while the District Collector has four complaints, mainly about 8220;illegal8221; money-lending business of the Sanandas, the petitioner has said. Besides alleging that the authorities have not been acting on the complaints, the petitioner demanded restoration of powers to the Special Investigation Team SIT appointed under then Buldana SP Krishna Prakash Prasad and completion of inquiry to facilitate early filing of the chargesheet.
