India today made it clear that no bilateral meeting has been fixed between Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Pakistani leaders on the sidelines of the Saarc summit in Islamabad next month. 8216;8216;No meeting has been fixed,8217;8217; Foreign Secretary Shashank kept saying, as mediapersons persisted to know if Vajpayee will meet President Pervez Musharraf or Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali during the three-day summit from January 4.

Specifically asked about Vajpayee8217;s recent remark that he was willing to meet everyone, Shashank said: 8216;8216;Obviously, there will be occasions when leaders will get together during the conference and at the retreat.8217;8217;

The Foreign Secretary said requests have been received from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal for bilateral meetings. The Ministry of External Affairs is 8216;8216;working8217;8217; on finalising these requests. He did not rule out that both India and Pakistan can still make a request for talks.

He admitted 8216;8216;there was tremendous anticipation that the summit will produce results8217;8217;, and said a social charter, as well as a free trade agreement, will be inked at the end of the summit.

Shashank said he didn8217;t see signs of 8216;8216;revival of a composite dialogue8217;8217; between India and Pakistan at Saarc. 8216;8216;Cross-border infiltration has not stopped, it has only slowed down in the winter months,8217;8217; he said, adding that Pakistan has to dismantle terror camps for talks to begin.
