SAS NAGAR, Sept 30: Long queues could be seen outside counters set up by the Punjab School Education Board for submission of admission forms of private candidates appearing in classes X and XII. Today was the last day for submission of forms. The annual examinations for the classes would be held in March 2000. The Board had set up five counters to accept the fee amount and two for the forms. People had assembled even before the counters had opened.

When Newsline visited a centre, there were about 500 people waiting to submit the forms. Amarjit Singh had come all the way from Amritsar to submit his son8217;s form. He said more counters should have been set up or at least forms should have been accepted by the Board by post. A board spokesperson said that people should not wait for the last day to submit the forms for a lot of inconvenience is caused not only to the people but also to the staff who are on duty.
