Later, a touch of haute couture was added to the party when model couple Mehr Jessia and Arjun Rampal landed up with Alison and Ajay Kanuga.

Dressed in black, both Mehr and Arjun are even better looking in real life than their pictures! Marriage really seems to suit them. Industry was well represented by the presence of Maitreya Doshi and Atulya Mafatlal with his wife-to-be Sheetal Bhagat. For the first showing of Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Metro cinema as expected was crowded. Packed as it was, you could not help but notice Kajol who turned up to watch herself on the big screen 8212; minus her beau and co-star Ajay Devgan. By the reaction on her face she seemed to be quite pleased with the end result. As usual she turned up sans make-up here is one girl who does not seem to care about her looks. Sitting near Kajol, also with their eyes fixed on the screen, were Yash and Pamela Chopra who have recently returned from London.

Sony Television celebrated the first anniversary of its popular programme, Star Yaar Kalakar on Thursday evening at the Leela Kempenski. And the list of celebs that turned up was longer than the carpets at the venue. Rearing their famous heads among the crowdwere Jackie Shroff, Shammi Kapoor, show host Farida Jalal, Akshay Anand, Satish Shah, Lekh Tandon, Deven Verma, Peenaz Masani, Bappi Lahari8230;. phew! The star spotting of the audience was interspersed with song performances by Bali Bhrambhatt, Jojo, Zenia, Dabbu Malik, Jaswinder and others. Knitting the show together, was compere Nasser, who rather than explain away the long pauses between performances, claimed that the breaks where in fact quot;commercial breaks without commercials!quot;

Balle balle Bali

That being a singer is the latest in-thing was proved on Sunday night at the Razzberry in Juhu, Nitin Bali, better know as Ruby Bhatia8217;s hubby, launched his debut album, Na Jaane. Proclaimed as the quot;new voice and new facequot; by the record company BMG-Crescendo, Bali performed three of his numbers the last one was a bhangra number in which Ruby joined in with the balle-balle. Enjoying the doses of Bali8217;s music were Sunil Lulla, the director of MTV, Vikas Bhalla, model Anupama Verma8230;who was looking more gorgeous than ever before in a floral dress and hair tied up in a bun and reaching for the sky.

Another place that is really into holding special events is the Beautiful Boulevard. Ambassadress Anna Bredmeyer is always looking out for ways to keep her store in the news. And on Friday afternoon she invited florist Sonu Panchmatia to make floral arrangements using the crystal and porcelain that is available at the store. And Sonu showed all the Malabar Hill memsaabs how to make the most of the seasonal flowers available.

The place to be quot;seenquot; at the moment is the Fashion Cafe and Bistro. It is always crowded and one woman who was really letting her hair down this Friday was Kareena Kapoor. Dressed in black, she was looking a little on the heavier side of life but that did not stop her from having fun. The fact that she was dropped from Rakesh Roshan8217;s Kahona Pyar Hai, does not seem to be bothering this babe. Well, coming back to the cafe,they hold regular promo events for their members. On Sunday, they held a cocktail contest. Among the contestants were designer Rocky S, Henry Tham and USIS8217;s Sheldon Austin, and the judge was Prahlad Kakkar. The winner was Henry Tham8217;s Viagra-inspired-cocktail, which was very potent and was sure to get anyone who drank it in the mood. Others spotted were Sumeet Chopra, Priety Zinta, Viren Roopam8217; Shah and designer Radhika Naik.

Last week some of Mumbai8217;s most glamourous girls headed to Chandigarh for a NIFT show. On the ramp was Helen Brodie, Shweta Menon and Bipasha Basu. Though the city fell in love with them, the girls really had to work hard on the ramp as Delhi model and former Miss India runner-up Priti Mankotia had to drop out as she fell ill.
