Roopnagar LS seat rolls published

KHARAR, Aug 1: The final publication of electoral rolls for the Roopnagar parliamentary constituency and five Assembly constituencies of Roopnagar district has been completed.

The alteration, deletion and inclusion of names in the electoral rolls was undertaken under the process of revision of electoral rolls conducted as per the orders of the Election Commission of India. The Assistant Officer (AROs) for all the five Assembly constituencies of Roopnagr district are meeting here on August 4 to finalise the formalities for a free, fair and peaceful conduct of elections scheduled to be held on September 4. The electoral rolls for Kharar Assembly constituency number at 1,98,997 votes of which 88,000 are female voters.

As many as 202 polling stations have been set up in the entire Kharar Assembly constituency. While 104 polling stations are in the rural areas, 98 polling stations have been set up in the urban areas, he added and informed that not a single polling station has been identified as sensitive, but tight security arrangements would be made to ensure a peaceful poll.
