Road sector sees synergy gains

While airlines have made it clear that they expect no impact due to the slash in the Railway8217;s passenger fares, the road sector has voiced its opinion on similar lines with regard to the impact on the road sector of a rate cut in rail freight charges. 8220;We do not see any immediate impact on the road sector, in fact, we expect that the end customer will benefit with better coordination between the rail-road freight corridors. Both put together can enhance the productivity and efficiency of the domestic logisitcs industry,8221; said D P Agarwal, vice chairman and managing director, Transport Corporation of India.
