A local travel agent countered the charge that he had cheated and sent four Keralites, who escaped from a US camp in Iraq, to the war-torn country.
M.M. Thangal Kunju, whose name was referred to in a section of the media as the agent involved in the recruitment of the four who ended up in ‘‘Q West camp’’ in Iraq as kitchen assistants, said their claims were not supported by documentary evidence. Shajahan, Hameed, Faizal and Manzoor had alleged they were paid less and went through difficulties in the Iraq camp. Kunju claimed he had only introduced them to a Mumbai agent. —PTI
