Remembering Ayrton Senna8230;

On the 12th anniversary of Ayrton Senna8217;s death, the triple world champion can best be remembered through his exploits on the track

8226; First Impact Monaco 8217;84: Senna, driving a lowly Toleman-Hart in his first season, started 13th in heavy rain. Within 10 laps he was 6th, and by lap 19, an astounding 2nd; 33.8 seconds behind Prost. From lap 20 to 31 Senna reduced the gap to a stunning 7 seconds before the race was deemed too dangerous to continue.

8226; The Suzuka Blitz 8217;88: Needing a win to claim the championship, Senna8217;s clutch gave away at the start and was overtaken by half the grid before the engine revved up. From 13th position, Senna took on Prost, winning the race and his maiden title.8217;

8226; On collision course: At Suzuka 8217;89, McLaren team-mates Prost and Senna collided after the latter refused to budge and Prost won the championship. A year later at the same venue, Senna exacted revenge by refusing to brake into a corner 8211; taking Prost out to win the title.

8226; Best ever? Don8217;ton 8217;93: Under torrential rain Senna, 5th, blitzed past Hill, Schumacher, and Wedlinger within one lap. Overtaking leader Prost on the inside, Senna went on to win, with entire lap down before the end.8217;

8226; The Imola Incident: Senna told his fiancee he did not want to race 8212; Austrian Roland Ratzenberger had died, Senna8217;s compatriot Rubens Barrichello had survived a massive crash. But he raced, and crashed fatally.
