MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 26: Opener Sadagoppan Ramesh and middle-order batsman Mohammed Azharuddin are back in the Indian team for the second and final Test, starting in Bangalore on March 2. The Chandu Borde-chaired National selection committee cleared the way for the two by dropping VVS Laxman and Ajay Jadeja.

The selectors also named Saurav Ganguly as the skipper for the One-Day International series, that follows the Bangalore Test and the the three-nation tourney in Sharjah.

Ramesh is back after being sideline with an injury while Azhar was recalled for the Mumbai Test after a long wilderness. However, a thumb injury just days before the Test saw him concede his place to Jadeja.

The team: Sachin Tendulkar (capt), Wasim Jaffer, Sadgoppan Ramesh, Rahul Dravid, Saurav Ganguly, Mohd. Azaruddin, Anil Kumble, Nayan Mongia (wk), Murali Kartik, Javagal Srinath, Ajit Agarkar, Mohd. Kaif, Nikhil Chopra and Thiru Kumaran. Coach: Kapil Dev.
