
CHANDIGARH, Aug 18: Ramanpreet and Sakshi Bawa clinched titles in the sub-junior boys and girls section, respectively, on the penultimate day of the ninth Chandigarh State carrom championships at the St Stephen’s School in Sector 45, today. ramanpreet got the better of Sumit Chakarvarthy 25-1, 25-12 while Sakshi outplayed Eveleen 25-0, 25-5, to wear the girls crown.The junior girls title went to Nabhi Sahni who defeated Puneet Lamba 25-4, 5-19, 25-4.

Khalsa XI win
Khalsa XI beat Chandigarh XI by two goals to nil in the junior section in the six-a-side hockey tournament at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium today.
Saurav and Manjeet were the marksmen for the winners.
In another match Guru Gobind Club beat Guru Nanak XI by 4-2. Jasbir struck three goals (not hat-trick). Paramjeet got his first and team’s fourth goal in the dying minutes of the contest.
In the senior section, Rocket XI and Chicago XI played goalless draw.
