Glowing is the word that comes to mind when one comes face-to-face with the exuberant, multi-talented Rageshwari Loomba. Glowing with happiness, glowing with health8230; 8220;I lay great importance on working out regularly and I make it a point to do so every morning for an hour-and-a-half,8221; says Rageshwari. And boy, does it show!

Fit as a fiddle, the lady can go through an exhausting day of television shoots and song recordings without blinking an eyelid. 8220;I believe that the human body is like a machine 8211; the more you run it, the smoother it gets. So the more you workout, the better your body becomes and gives fewer problems. Besides, a physical workout increases your stamina, strengthens your immune system and enables you to sail through gruelling days.8221;

A typical day in Rageshwari8217;s life starts early in the morning, around 6.30 am. 8220;I8217;ve always been an early riser, a staunch believer in Early to sleep and early to rise8230;8217; Then, I also have a longer day to myself!8221; she says. Next comes the quintessential morning cup of tea, 8220;only because it helps clear my throat and helps me sing better. Otherwise, it has always been no-coffee-no-tea for me,8221; she confesses.

It8217;s riyaaz time with her father at 7.30 am for an hour. This is followed by a workout. 8220;I change into sports gear and start my workout with spot jogs for about five minutes after which I move on to strenuous jogging that involves lifting your knees and working up a good sweat. This helps in firming the thighs, backside and the knees. As soon as I begin to cool down, I go through a series of stretch exercises that help in keeping my body flexible and supple. I also do crunches for my stomach and some dumb-bell exercises that help firm my arm muscles.8221; she informs. After the exercise session, it8217;s breakfast time and them, off for the day to the studio for recordings, shoots of MTV Ek Do Teen episodes or ad shoots.

Besides the shows and ads, Rageshwari has been busy doing concerts around the country 8211; she has done almost 30 concerts and displays no sign of slowing down. 8220;I love doing concerts where I am the solo artist and people come to listen to Duniya or Pyaar ka rang. It8217;s really great to see such an enormous response to my music, I love every minute of it!8221; she enthuses.

However, concerts require a great deal of energy and stamina and that8217;s where her daily exercise routine comes to the rescue. The best thing about stamina is that it only increases and never lets you down when you need it the most,8221; she adds. Surprisingly, working out is the only effort she makes towards keeping fit. As for food, anything goes for this Punjabi girl who can, in her words, digest stones! 8220;Dieting is a big no for me. I love food, especially ghar ka khana because my mom is an amazing cook. I gorge on alu parathas, rajma chawal, fish curry, dahi8230; the typical Punjabi food. ,8221; she says.

She believes that one must make exercise as a part of daily life. 8220;Work out everyday. It may take some time for your stamina to grow, but the effects show almost immediately. You feel good, you look better and there8217;s a vibrancy about you. Also, simple things like walking short distances, climbing stairs instead of taking the elevator, moving around and doing chores around the house go a long way in keeping oneself fit.8221;Rageshwari feels strongly about dieting and advises against it. 8220;Starving is only a temporary solution. I8217;ve seen people who starve themselves to become thin and they begin to look terrible,8221; she warns.

8220;I8217;m lucky that I have loving parents and a stable home to come back to. Ultimately, it8217;s the love of your family that goes long way in keeping you happy. And happiness is the key to good health!8221;
