CVC to ignore anonymous complaints

NEW DELHI: The Central Vigilance Commission has directed all departments and organisations under its purview not to take any action on anonymous or pseudonymous complaints. The decision has been taken to check blackmailers who psychologically pressurise and demoralise the honest public servants.

New BSE chief

MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday appointed a N Joshi, managing director of SBI Factors, as its new executive director. The position had fallen vacant in April, following the resignation of R C Mathur in the wake of investigations by the Securities and Exchange Board of India in a case of price rigging in the scrips of Videocon, Sterlite and BPL last year.

Woman gang-raped

KANPUR: Enraged by the abduction8217; of a Yadav girl, a gang of men raped and burnt to death a woman of a weaker community at Bhawanipur village here on Wednesday. The men alleged that the woman8217;s son had abducted the girl.
