Transponder services restored

BANGALORE: Services hit by a transponder failure in Insat-2B have now been restored, according to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) here. "They (the services) have been accommodated in other transponders," ISRO sources said. A transponder in Insat-2B, launched on July 1993 by the Ariane launch vehicle, failed on Monday evening, affecting department of telecommunications’ services.

Staines’ probe

NEW DELHI: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have began investigating the brutal killing of Australian missionary Graham Stewart Staines and his two sons in Orissa in January last. A team of senior agency officers, led by joint director M L Sharma, have already left for the State to carry on the probe, CBI sources said here on Wednesday.
