CJ sets up 9-man Bench on postings
NEW DELHI: Chief Justice of India M M Punchhi on Tuesday constituted a nine-judge constitution Bench to decide queries raised by President K R Narayanan in his reference to the Supreme Court regarding appointment of judges . The Bench to be headed by Justice A S Anand will begin hearing on July 30. The other judges of the bench are Justices S P Bharucha, M K Mukherjee, S B Majmudar, Sujatha V Manohar, G T Nanavati, Saghir Ahmed, K Venkataswamy and B N Kirpal. The Chief Justice has excluded himself and the next seniormost judge Justice SC Aggarwal from the bench as both of them would be retiring shortly.
