NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Wednesday directed the Commissioner of Police to arrest their leaders as the stir had quot;deterioratedquot; health services in the Capital. Metropolitan magistrate Rajesh Aggarwal in his order said, quot;No operations can be done in a majority of the hospitals and many serious accident victims, accompanied by the police, are being sent from one hospital to another.quot;

Custodial death

VIJAYAWADA: A 25-year-old youth died in police custody at Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday night. Police said the victim, D Ram Babu, a resident of Mukkiralapadu village, was picked up by Pentapadu police along with three others from the same village on May 9 in connection with the case of a missing person. Ram Babu suddenly collapsed in the cell on Tuesday night.

NEW DELHI: In her bid to revitalise the party, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday appointed Ambika Soni and Manish Tiwari aspresidents of the All India Mahila Congress and Indian Youth Congress, respectively. Party general secretary Oscar Fernandes, said the appointments would be with immediate effect. While Soni is the spokes-person for the party, Tiwari was the joint secretary in the AICC till it was restructured by Sonia recently.
