Purified eating

For five generations, the Sharma family has been selling crisp fried puris to thousands of people. The family runs Pancham Puri, the most eaten puri-subzi place in the city. Pancham Mangalsingh Sharma came from Agra much over 160 years ago and decided to set up shop at Bazaar Gate, at the mouth of Parsi Bazaar Street. Till date, they continue to roll out countless puris and whirl litres of buttermilk in their Grade III eating house.

The prices are great. The menu is brief so choose from there. Or else ask for a plate that comes for Rs 18, with five puris, watery but tasty potato and another vegetable. The masala puri is another attraction. It8217;s bigger and thicker with masala sprinkled on it. Their stuffed green chilly pickle is spicy and tangy. Very good.

If you8217;re too fussy, this isn8217;t a good place to be. If you mind sharing your table with several people at any given time, skip the place.
