
CHANDIGARH, March 29: The Punjab Government Employees Residents Welfare Association today condemned the attitude of the state government towards curbs on the facilities and allowances in the recently announced Punjab Budget.
The residents took out a rally in Sector 39 and later burnt an effigy of the state government. Association press secretary Sucha Singh Mattu said that in the wake of the decision of the state government, no leave travel concession LTC would be provided to the employees, house allowances had been reduced by five to ten per cent and there was no mention of release of bonus.
The association leaders appealed to the government to roll back its decision, which they alleged would affect the employees8217; lives.
