Robbery bid: A case registered
Kulbir Singh, a resident of Sector 30-A has complained to the police that an unknown person entered his house apparently with the intention of committing robbery. Singh, told the police that he had been away to Manali with his family and returned last night, sources said. He found cigarette stubs and a knife lying in the house and someone was hiding in the bathroom, police sources added. However, the accused managed to escape. The police have registered a case for housebreaking.

One arrested as a preventive measure8217;
The city police, this morning, arrested Vipin Kumar, from Sector 44 as a quot;preventive measurequot; under Sections 107, 51 of the Cr PC. The accused had reportedly quarrelled with a woman in Sector 44.

LPG cylinder stolen
Sunil Dutt, a resident of New Darshan Bagh in Manimajra, reported to the police that someone stole a gas cylinder and a regulator from his house. The police have registered a case.

Man duped of Rs 1,400
Bunty, a resident of Sector 36, complained to the police that he was duped by an unknown person of Rs 1,400, this afternoon. The complainant told the police that he had gone to deposit his water and electricity bill. Seeing a long queue, he handed over the bill and money to the accused who volunteered to deposit his bill, police said. It was added that accused managed to give Bunty a slip, taking away the money with him.
