He has been selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).Vaidya is a former student of Bhave School and S P College.YWCA stand on nuclear testThe Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) of India has expressed the hope that that the Indian nuclear tests will compel a review of the current acquiescence of the world community in the retention of nuclear weapons by some nations and will lead to step by step universal disarmament.A statement adopted by the YWCA of India has said that the association which abhors war nevertheless believes that India has legitimate security concerns and that the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) do little to stop Proliferation while in fact legitimising nuclear weapons in the hands of a few nuclear powers. The YWCA has also welcomed India's declaration of moratorium on the nuclear tests and hoped that the country will sign the NPT and CTBT with mutual acceptable amendments.
