PUNE, NOV 23: The Pune Municipal Corporation on Monday took a major step towards transparent administration, with Mayor Datta Gaikwad releasing citizens8217; charter8217;, which contains all the vital information about the civic administration.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaikwad hoped that the administration would work more efficiently and effectively as the citizens8217; charter would encourage people8217;s participation in civic affairs. He said the civic administration would now go to the people, which is the basic thrust of the charter.

Municipal Commissioner Ratnakar Gaikwad expressed confidence that the charter would help in curbing corruption, as transparent administration would not leave any scope for wrong practices. Gaikwad said he would conduct a monthly meeting of all the heads of the departments and ward officers to review the functioning.
