Food for thought
Do not disregard suspicious-looking people in the neighbourhood8217; says one colourful poster. Inform your neighbours and the police when going out of town8217; screams another. These and other posters of a similar nature have been displayed at a stall put up by the police at the Food festival underway on the B J Medical ground. But what is such a stall doing at a food festival?
Says PSI PSI Devidas Gheware of the Ramoshi gate police station who conceived of the idea of putting up posters along with PI Vishvasrao Patil 8220;We are trying to create awareness about the Your neighbour, your friend8217;, Aapla shejari, aapla khara pahrekari campaign that was launched by the police commissionner some months ago. Thefts and burglaries can be averted if citizens take care of certain basic factors like informing their neighbours or the police if they are going out of station,8221; Food for thought, huh ?
Revving it up
Creating waves these days is the Kinetic Honda Marvel8217;s Fungama week on from May 5 to May 9 that has a snazzily designed float replete with colourful lights, bombastic music cruising all around town attracting quite a bit of crowd. The idea behind the extravaganza is, but of course, to draw attention to the two new models of Marvel being launched. To ensure that the passers-by do give more than passing glance to the float, there is also a contest happening simultaneously where citizens are asked to fill a form and hand it over at any of the dealer showrooms with the prize being a brand new Kinetic Honda Marvel. In fact according to the organisers apparently some 10,000 forms have already been distributed. Adding to all this spice are also an assortment of trendy items like T-shirts, mugs, bags and pouches being sold at the dealer showrooms. Now that8217;s what we call a really revved up marketing campaign.
