PDS office plagued by shortages
Facing difficulties in meeting its task of distributing application forms for the new colour ration cards based on income, the Public Distribution System (PDS) authorities here have sought immediate assistance of the State Government for extra manpower for the job.

Meanwhile, the distribution of application forms, which was severely affected due to shortage of forms, is expected to resume from Wednesday. The delay had been caused due to heavy print order at the government press for printing the same forms for Mumbai.

The State has extended the date of submitting the application forms from its earlier date of February 20 to March 15.
