CHANDIGARH, Dec 25: Ast year's runners-up Panjab University Campus outclassed Punjab Engineering College 3-0 to move into the final of the Punjab University Inter-College men's tennis championship being played at PU Campus.PU Campus will take on defending champions DAV College, Chandigarh in the final to be played tomorrow while PEC and GC-11 encounter will decided the third spot in the meet.In the match today, PEC team fell without resistance to PU Campus, who pocketed both the singles in no time. JP Singh (PUC) got the better of Vaibhav 6-2, 6-0 in the first singles. Gagandeep Wasu consolidated the margin by defeating Nakul 6-0, 6-4 in the second singles.The duo of Nakul and Tarun, however, put up a better show against the pair of Gagandeep Wasu and JP Singh in the doubles. But that could not save the day for PEC team as the in-form campus players won 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).Tennis trialsThe Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) will conduct trials to select Chandigarh men's and women's team for the forthcoming V National Games to be held at Imphal (Manipur) from February 14 to 25, at CLTA from December 30 to January 2, 1999.Entries close on December 28 at the venue.
