The ASC-EME match was also played on a similar pattern with the former dominating the proceedings almost throughout although there was not much to write home about in the first half when no goals were scored. Ajay drew first blood for ASC in the 36th minute and D Toppu followed it up with another goal in the 50th minute. EME tried hard to reduce the margin and succeeded when A Singh found the target in the 52nd minute.

In the final match of the day, Food Corporation of India found themselves in arrears by a goal in the 22nd minute when Western Railway’s Deepak Gupta scored a field goal. The Mumbai team maintained their slender lead till the 65th minute but then their defenders found the pressure from the FCI forwards too hot to handle. Prabhakar converted the fifth sixth penalty corners of his team to first draw level and then score the match-winner.
