
CHANDIGARH, Nov 4: Four Sub-inspectors who were promoted as inspectors last week have been transferred from their current postings.
While Dhanraj Sharma has been placed as in-charge of the Public Grievances Cell from the CBO Cell, Tirath Singh and Ajmer Singh have been transferred from Sector 31 police station to the CBO cell. Inspector Ram Gopal has been transferred from the Sector 31 police station and posted as Inspector Sports and Yoga, police sources said.
AIDS awareness camp organised
The Indian Council of Social Welfare, Chandigarh branch organised AIDS/HIV and STD awareness camp at village Sarangpur UT in collaboration with State AIDS Control Society.
Experts, including Dr S. Sandhu, Family Association, Mohali, Dr Vanita Gupta and skin specialist, General Hospital, Sector 16 and Amrita Ahluwalia, General Hospital, Sector 16 enlightened the audience on the causes, symptoms, effects and protective measures of AIDS.
Prostitution on rise
Chandigarh Congress Committee I District Urban has pointed out that prostitution has reached an all time high in the colonies, villages and various sectors of the City. In a statement issued here, Suresh Manchanda of the party said that this was being carried out with the connivance of the City police. The committee has demanded strict action against the beauty parlours, guest houses and hotels engaged in promoting this trade.
