SURAT, Nov 1: The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and South Gujarat Productivity Council have organised a programme for small scale industries like textile, engineering and plastic to make them understand the concept of ISO 90008242; more clearly.
The programme will be held at the SGCCI premises at Samruddhi in Nanpura on November 5. The SGCCI said in the last two years the growth rate of exports was declining and small scale industries were finding it difficult to take on their foreign competitors.
The only way to meet this challenge was by increasing quality. The programme will give entrepreneurs a fair understanding of the quality required for competing in the global market and how to achieve it. Unless work techniques are improved, quality would be hard to come by. The ISO 9000 deals precisely with that, according to SGCCI president Rajendra Chokhawala.
