A Buddhist monk has been arrested over filming women who stripped off for a dip in holy water at a Cambodian temple.

A mucky Buddhist monk has been arrested over filming women who stripped off for a dip in holy water at a temple in Cambodia.

Net Khai,37,is facing imprisonment for a year and has been taken off his religious status after cops caught him spying on women who had gone to him for blessings.

Prosecutors say Khai used to share the saucy clip with others after filming ladies without clothes.

He was arrested at his pagoda in the country8217;s capital Phnom Penh on the weekend and the local court charged him with producing and distributing pornographic images.

The monk had secretly taped the women pouring sacred water over themselves in a pagoda bathroom,said the police chief,Touch Naruth.

Khai was taken to the custody after a victim informed cops about the video clips showing the naked women had been shared via mobile phones.

8220;He has filmed hundreds of women since 2008. They came to the monk to be blessed with holy water,but they were secretly filmed,the Sun quoted the Naruth as saying.

He added: 8220;His act affects other monks and Buddhism and seriously harms our tradition.8221;

The police officer tells that Khai confessed to his crimes and they were now looking for his partner in crime.
