Anna Faris, the 34-year-old actress known for her role in the Scary Movie film series,is now trying her hand at romantic comedy with her new film,Whats your Number? The film casts Faris as Ally,a messed-up,30-ish Bostonian who, upon realising that shes slept with 19 different men without finding true love, decides not to sleep with anyone else until she figures out exactly what went wrong with all those exes. This is my first real romantic comedy, Faris says. Im terrified and excited. But Im really proud to enter this genre, because its one of my favourites and I want to do these kinds of movies. It just doesnt feel like we see a lot of girls I know on the big screen, she says. Im not someone who has it all together, and frankly Im tired of seeing these Little Miss Perfects on the big screen.

The Thing 1982,a super-creepy,hyper-violent cult

favourite directed by John Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell, will now have a prequel. Soon,Universal Pictures will unleash Matthijis van Heijningens The Thing,a prequel set only days before the events of the Carpenter classic. In it,paleontologist Dr Kate Lloyd Mary Elizabeth Winstead and a Norwegian alien-research team in Antarctica come across an alien spacecraft and an ice-encased,seemingly dead extraterrestrial creature. The alien is far from dead, however. It is more than capable of killing, and also has the eerie ability to assume its victims form, leaving everyone in the group to wonder who among them is still human and who isnt. And so begins a desperate race against time to destroy the Thing before it can dispatch the entire group and reach abroader population.

Juno Temple, the 22-year-old Brit first came to notice as the mouthy daughter of Cate Blanchetts character in Notes on a Scandal 2006. Then in Atonement 2007 she played a rape victim who went on to marry her rapist. Provocative roles in Cracks 2009 and Kaboom 2010 quickly followed. Now,in the upcoming Dirty Girl,Temple plays the title character,a slutty teenager hoping to find the father she never knew. Forced into a remedial class, she is paired with another misfit Jeremy Dozier on a parenting project. Unexpectedly they become friends. The message of the film is,Dont judge a book by its cover or youll miss out on incredible things, Temple says. My character is a feisty little being, and finally someone takes the time to listen to her. But some people might see her as a raging bitch.
