Ishant scalps four as Delhi register easy win over J038;K

Ishant Sharma took four wickets and Shikhar Dhawan scored 65 as Delhi crushed Jamp;K by 81 runs in their opening match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy at Patiala on Thursday.

After posting a total of 296 runs in the alloted 50 overs,Delhi bowled out Jamp;K for 215. Opting to bat after winning the toss,openers Dhawan and Unmukt Chand put together a stand of 80. Jamp;K then fought back to reduce Delhi to 172 for 5 by the 33 over. Sumit Narwal blitzed two sixes in his 42 off 31 balls to add impetus to the innings. Chasing,Jamp;K were never in a strong position as they lost wickets regularly. It was only a strong lower middle-order effort lead by Pervez Rassol,who scored 70 that saw Jamp;K finish with a respectable total.
