East Zone skipper Saurabh Tiwary was worried ahead of the Duleep Trophy quarter-final against Central Zone — not only do his team mates need to get the better of their star-studded opponents, they also have extreme cold conditions to counter. Led by Mohammad Kaif, the Central team is effectively India’s next best eleven, with the likes of Suresh Raina,RP Singh,Piyush Chawla,Pankaj Singh among the ranks.

“We are not the underdogs. Though the Central Zone has top performers,we are well prepared. Some of our players have had good domestic season, and they will hold key for us,” the 20-year-old Tiwary said. “I think we have depth in batting line-up. The wicket looks seamer-friendly so we are hoping Dinda,Bose and Abu Nechim can do the damage,” he said. The focus, though, will be on RP Singh, who can hope for a national comeback with an impressive performance here.
