A day after CGF president Mike Fennell expressed concerns over Commonwealth Games preparations,Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit and Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi went into damage-control mode, saying they would do everything to ensure a successful Games.

Dikshit said the state government would complete all work in time while Kalmadi stated he would be happy to facilitate Fennells meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. We are satisfied as well nervous about the preparation, said Dikshit. He Fennell met me one month ago and conveyed his concern about the power situation. I told him that the city will have adequate power during the event. We are working very hard, she added.

IOA president Kalmadi reiterated that all venues would be ready by February. Most of the issues have been addressed and I will be happy to take Mr Fennell to the PM and discuss his concerns. He should not have any doubts in mind, Kalmadi said. The infrastructure will be ready in December and February next year.
