After ordering an inspection of the books of accounts of the Delhi and District Cricket Association DDCA,the ministry of corporate affairs has now formed a multi-disciplinary committee to look into the allegations of financial irregularities raised by BJP MP and former cricketer Kirti Azad.
Azad had lodged a complaint on September 18 with the ministry and submitted documentary evidence obtained through the Right to Information Act.
The multi-disciplinary committee under the Corporate Affairs Ministry, regional director Noida, will also have officials from the Serious Fraud Investigation office SFIO and the ministry to look into the allegations, which include improper conduct of annual general meetings, irregular purchases, injudicious spending of funds and payment of honorarium against the provisions of the Articles of Association.
Interestingly, the DDCAs chief is BJP leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha,Arun Jaitley. We had ordered an Registrar of Companies RoC probe and now we have formed a panel to look into all aspects of the allegations, a ministry official told The Indian Express.
