The police identified the boy as Shlok Nitin Bandal, a resident of Swara Classic building in Siddhivinayak Society.
A 12-year-old boy died in Pune after he fell through the duct of an under-construction building’s terrace in Ambegaon Khurd on Thursday evening. A day later, the police booked the builders on charges of negligence.
The police identified the boy as Shlok Nitin Bandal, a resident of Swara Classic building in Siddhivinayak Society.
Bandal went to the terrace of Sneh Sparsha Heights, a six-storey building located near Swara Classic, to fly kites. But he slipped and fell down the duct near the staircase on the terrace of the building, the police said. There was no railing, barricading, or fencing around the duct, the police added.
“Sneha Sparsha Heights is a building under construction. Yet people are residing in the building till the fifth floor. Construction work of the sixth floor is yet to be completed,” Assistant Police Inspector Bhojling Dodmise, the investigation officer of the case, said.
After receiving the information, a team from Ambegaon police station rushed to the spot. On Friday, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against the builders of Sneh Sparsha Heights on charges of death by negligence, as per sections 106 (1) and 3 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
“No arrest has been made yet. Investigation is on,” said Dodmise.
