Cargo plane crashes in Mexico,5 crew dead

A cargo plane crashed overnight in the Mexican city of Monterrey,killing five crew members,an official with the civil protection authority said on Wednesday.

The plane went down in rainy and cloudy conditions near Monterrey’s international airport last night,said the official,who spoke on condition of anonymity for lack of authorisation in speaking with the media.

Two pilots and three other crew members were killed in the crash,the cause of which is being investigated,the official said,without giving more information.

Monterrey is an industrial hub in northeastern Mexico.
