Prime Minister David Cameron would arrive here on his maiden visit on November 9 leading a “largest delegation in British history” to give a big boost to China-UK trade ties,amid pressure by the western nations on Beijing to free jailed Nobel peace laureate Liu Xiaobo.
Cameron who will be on a two day visit to China will lead a big deletion which would include Ministers of Finance,Energy,Education and Commerce,Chinese Foreign Ministry’s new spokesman,Hong Lei told a media briefing here on Tuesday.
About 50 Business leaders of UK would accompany Cameron,who would also be attending a China-UK Business summit along with Chinese leaders,he said.
During his visit,Cameron elected in May this year as British Premier,will meet President Hu Jintao and hold talks with his Chinese counterpart,Wen Jiabao.
China attaches “great importance” to its ties with Britain and ready to work with UK to make Cameron’s visit a success and to “inject new vitality” to the bilateral ties,Hong said.
China looks for positive results out of the visit as it came before the G-20 summit to be held in Seoul on November 11 and 12.
The visit comes after Chinese dissident Liu was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize,angering Beijing and drawing calls from abroad,especially the western nations for his immediate release.
