Benson dismisses retirement rumours
London: Mark Benson dismissed speculation that he had retired from the ICCs elite panel of umpires,and issued a statement declaring that his withdrawal from the Australia-West Indies Test in Adelaide was entirely due to health reasons. Following my withdrawal from the Adelaide Test and the media speculation about my future,I would like to clarify that I have not resigned as an elite panel umpire, read Bensons statement. I would also like to state clearly that my withdrawal had nothing whatsoever to do with the umpire decision review system.
Tamim doubtful for tri-series
Dhaka: Bangladesh may be without Tamim Iqbal in the tri-series in January,also featuring India and Lanka,after the opener ignored medical advice and continued playing with a fractured hand. Tamim suffered a hairline fracture on his left hand while batting against Zimbabwe in an ODI on November 5 and was advised rest for a month.
HC stops ICL from filing suit in UK
New Delhi: The Delhi High Court barred Indian Cricket League from filing a suit against the BCCI in the UK courts. In a suit filed by the BCCI before the Delhi High Court for an anti-suit injunction against Essel Sports Pvt Ltd Indian Cricket League,the Delhi High Court today passed an order restraining Essel Sports ICL from filing a suit in the courts of the UK against the BCCI, a release said.
Pakistan selectors leave out Younis
Islamabad: Pakistan cricket selectors on Monday left out Younis Khan from a 16-man squad and retained Mohammad Yousuf as captain for the three-Test and five one-day internationals against Australia. Former captain Younis opted to rest after scoring only 22 runs as Pakistan lost the one-day series against New Zealand 2-1.
