Robin on song

An out-of-form Robin Uthappa may have started off playing second fiddle to Jacques Kallis as Bangalore marched towards their target of 150,but the 23-year-old unleashed a late assault to ensure the Royal Challengerss third straight win with 11 balls to spare. Uthappa remained unbeaten on a 42-ball 66,including eight fours and two sixes one of which was the longest six in the tournament at 113 metres.

It was Kallis, though, who took the attack to the Mumbai bowlers early on,hitting Lasith Malinga for two huge sixes in his first over. The experienced South African, who scored the winning runs, finished with a 59-ball 69.

Dream debut

Dillon du Preez may have been the least known among the many South Africans participating in the IPL,but he did not take too long to announce himself, picking up the big wicket of Mumbai captain Sachin Tendulkar with his third delivery in the tournament. He then got Ajinkya Rahane with his next delivery, before accounting for the in-form JP Duminy in his next over. Du Preezs figures at the end of his first two overs read a staggering 2-3,including a maiden.

Bravo dwayne

Walking in with his teams score at 23-3,Dwayne Bravo steadied the ship with a 60-run stand in the company of Sanath Jayasuriya. Bravo then provided the Mumbai innings with the much-needed momentum towards the end and remained unbeaten on 50 off 40 balls.
