By design or by default, the Congress high command is reluctant to take on the Left in West Bengal and Kerala. AICC General Secretary in charge of these two states, Mohsina Kidwai , spends most of her time in Uttar Pradesh and her office has a lot of visitors from that state. She was learnt to have discouraged any attempts by her young Secretaries, Sanjay Bapna in charge of West Bengal and Alka Lamba in charge of Kerala, to take interest in their states. A disappointed Bapna had to find temporary employment with another General Secretary Prithviraj Chavan in managing party affairs in Tripura. Finally, on Thursday, the high command decided to take Bapna from under Kidwai8217;s wings and attached him to Chavan.
