Poultry staff stage protest rally

CHANDIGARH, June 28: The Punjab Poultry Development Corporation Workers8217; Union today took out a mass procession of workers in the Industrial Area Phase I, shouting slogans against the Punjab government and Management of the Punjab Poultry Development Corporation.

The workers demanded release of arrears, revision of pay- scales and release of bonus for the last four years. The procession was addressed by Devi Dyal Sharma and Dev Raj of the Chandigarh unit of the All India Trade Union Congress AITUC.

Stir called off
The Footpath Workers8217; Ekta Samiti called off their rally today in the wake of Chandigarh Administration declaring a holiday, on the occassion of Kabir Jayanti.In a meeting held today , the members raised issues like alleged victimisation by the police and Municipal Corporation, a press release issued by Ram Milan Gaud, Samiti president, stated.
