Ricky Ponting today reacted angrily to Virender Sehwag8217;s claims that the Australians had cheated during their 2-1 Test series victory Down Under, saying he felt insulted by the Indian opener8217;s outburst.
8220;That8217;s fairly insulting to say we claimed catches that weren8217;t. In the first innings in the Sydney Test I didn8217;t claim a catch of which I wasn8217;t 100 per cent sure,8221; Ponting said. 8220;It8217;s amazing how they8217;ve picked out a lot of negatives from the Sydney game and don8217;t seem to be speaking about the Perth Test the third Test which India won, where we probably had the same things happen to us,8221; Ponting added. 8220;Not one member of the Australian team has spoken about that 8212; we go about our cricket in different ways.8221;
Sehwag said yesterday that India suffered the most out of a 8220;catching pact8221; during his team8217;s tour of Australia early this year, whereby the opposing captains agreed to take the fielder8217;s word on the legitimacy of close catches.
