February 2: The Lok Jagruti Abhiyan LJA has been around since many years. And like any other social organisation, it works towards the betterment of the society. In an serious attempt to educate people about the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and need for a good government, LJA believes that an effective measure to educate the mass is through laughter.
Hence, Jansatta, Mumbai8217;s deputy resident editor Pradip Singh today released a set of 22 cartoon-based posters at the Bombay Union of Journalists8217; hall, Prospect Chambers, Fort.
The other organisations are the Mumbai Lok Samiti, National Alliances for Peoples8217; Movement, Jan Mukti Sangharsh Wahini, Rashtriya Yuva Sangathan, Seva Sangh and Maharashtra Sarvodaya Mandal. As a result, the posters reflect a cross section of social problems and concerned responsibilities of the politicians.
One poster shows a circus show in progress. However, the animals and clowns are replaced by Sonia Gandhi, Sitaram Kesri, Atalbehari Vajpayee and other national leaders. They are shown playing tricks with the voters. Another poster titled quot;Rajashahi ya Lokshahiquot;, depicts the dynastic culture prevailing in India and makes specific reference to the Nehru family. Next in line are the several multi-crore scams which gripped the country in last few years. The poster appeals to the voters to keep in mind all these issues before casting their vote.
