Police team attacked

Violence continued in some parts of the district as hundreds of women in Tikabali block attacked a police party on Sunday. Two decomposed bodies of a couple were also found in a forest. An angry mob of women armed with lathis smashed a police jeep in Tikamaha village of Tikabali block, moments after it tried to enter the area to arrest some people accused of arsoning. However, no policemen or paramilitary personnel were reported to be injured. Meanwhile, Lambodar Kanhar, secretary of Kandhamal Zilla Kui Samaj Coordination Committee on Sunday appealed to the Kondh tribals to desist from violence for a month so as to give the chief minister some time to act upon his promise of giving justice to the tribals.
