
Man found charred to death
A 30-year-old man was found charred to death in his Pushp Vihar home in South Delhi on Monday. Harbhajan Singh was found dead in his 5819, Pushp Vihar residence in Saket around 8 a.m. The police and fire service were alerted, when neighbours saw black clouds of smoke billowing out of the house. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the flames were brought under control in an hour. While there are currently no leads, the police are investigating the cause of the fire.
Rs 95,000 stolen from scooterist
Unidentified persons reportedly stole Rs 95,000 from a scooterist in the Ambedkar Nagar area of south Delhi today. The police say businessman Satish Kumar and his brother Jagbir were returning from a bank after withdrawing Rs 95,000. Soon after they crossed a flyover in the area, someone sprinkled a white, sticky liquid on them.
Satish Kumar told the police that he and his brother had parked the scooter near a roadside tap to wash off the liquid. When they returned to the scooter, parked a fee feet away, they found that the bag containing the money was missing. The businessmen had kept the money in the carrier under steering handle of the scooter. The police have registered a case of theft.
