Two illegal immigrants arrested
A team of officers from the Special Cell arrested two illegal immigrants on Wednesday. The accused have been identified as M.D. Farroq Lungi (25) and Ibrahim, both Pakistani nationals who had reportedly entered India through Bombay eight years ago.

They were arrested after the police received a tip-off that Lungi and Ibrahim had come to the Capital from Gujarat and were staying at Hotel Safayat in the Jama Masjid area. On interrogation, the two reportedly revealed that they had come to Bombay in 1991 on valid documents. They were apparently sent to India by a smuggler based in Karachi, Siraj, to set up base in India. The police say that Lungi and Ibrahim obtained Indian passports in Gujarat.

Two arrested for burglary
The west district police, acting on a tip-off, arrested Ravi Kumar and Vinod Kumar on Tuesday when they reportedly came to Tilak Nagar to dispose of a stolen fax machine. On further interrogation, the two are believed to have confessed to their involvement in 24 cases of burglary. The police say that the two used to operate in west and south-west Delhi and Ghaziabad.

Police arrest 2 under Arms Act
The north district police arrested two notorious criminals, Naushad Ansari and Ajmal Khan, from the Sadar Bazar Market on Wednesday under the Arms Act. A country-made revolver with three live cartridges and a knife have been recovered from the accused, who are natives of Muzaffarnagar in UP. They had apparently come to the market along with two associates with the intention of robbing wholesale dealer Kuldep Jain. As two policemen stationed in the area started questioning them, two of the accused managed to escape. The policemen apprehended Ansari and Khan with the help of the public.
