
CHANDIGARH, Oct 24: The Nursing Update at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research concluded today with deliberations on nursing techniques in various areas.
A session on AIDS in children was held by Dr Surjit Singh of PGI who talked about the need to protect children against the deadly virus. quot;One child in every 100 reportedly has AIDS at the time of birth from its mother. It is essential for the mothers to get tested regularly, quot; said Dr Surjit Singh who also gave tips regarding management of AIDS affected children and patients. quot;It is must for doctors and nurses to report any needle prick while managing an AIDS patient so that he can be put on drugs immediately,quot; he added.
