
CHANDIGARH, May 3: The members of the Nurses Welfare Association Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research reported on duty wearing black badges today, in support of their pending demands.
The nurses will continue to wear black badges for a week in protest against the non-implementation of their already accepted demands. According to Lakhwinder Singh, president of the Nurses Welfare Association, quot;Although efforts have been made to work out the problem with the authorities, but an apathetic attitude has been shown repeatedly to these demands. The protest will continue for a week and a decision to intensify the agitational methods will be taken thereafter.quot;
The nurses are demanding filling of vacant posts, along with carrying out promotions.
