
CHANDIGARH, Dec 3: The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research continues to function as usual, except that there is no one to head the institute.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has restrained Dr N.K. Ganguly from taking over as the PGI director and the Health Minister has not intimated who would officiate as the director. Even the senior most director of the institute has not been invited to officiate as the director.
According to sources, the PGI authorities are consulting the Union Law Ministry to move the apex court and file Special Leave Petition on behalf of the institute to challenge the HC order.
Meanwhile, all administrative decisions have come to a standstill even if the hospital services have not been affected.
