PUNE, JUNE 15: The standing committee of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation PCMC and Municipal Commissioner B I Nagrale today appeared to be on a confrontation course as the committee today adjourned its meeting after condemning some of his reported statements in a section of press.
Nagrale later clarified that some wrong information was attributed to him in the report which said that there were irregularities in the approval of civic works at the standing committee.
The commissioner however maintained that the civic administration will be particular in getting the approval of only those civic works which are listed on the agenda of the meeting. He said that civic works not on the agenda of the meeting were frequently approved. Although it was the right of the committee to approve the proposals at the last hour, the reasons for the urgency should be recorded in the minutes of the meeting. The disadvantage in getting approvals for proposals not on the agenda was that the members themselves do not get proper and complete information regarding the proposal, he said. The civic administration would be more particular in not forwarding any proposals for approval at the last hour, he told newspersons.
