PUNE, July 30: The much-discussed pay and park scheme on M.G. Road was brushed aside by the board for technical reasons. Since the board had passed a resolution at its last meeting to continue the scheme, it was pointed out that the issue could be taken up only after six months, despite the fact that all the elected members had submitted a letter to the board president for reconsidering the proposal.
Barring vice-president Vinod Sanghvi, who gave a dissent note at the last meeting, the remaining members found themselves in soup over the issue and had to face the ire of not only Shiv sainiks but also the Pune Camp Merchants8217; Association. Until the issue is taken up at the next meeting, the scheme will continue at the prevailing rates of Re. 1 for two-wheelers and Rs. 3 for four-wheelers.
