The wait of residents for the city8217;s first mall by Diwali might not come true, in wake of the authorities taking time to issue a no-objection certificate NoC. While work in the Shalimar Mall is over, the people are now waiting for a green signal from the Administration.
While Rajender Kataria, Panchkula Deputy Commissioner, had inspected the mall on September 24, no word has reached the authorities, who are waiting for the Panchkula Administration8217;s nod to throw it open for the public.
8220;The mall is ready and we are waiting for the NoC from the Administration, after which, the final date for inauguration will be declared. Though we have plans to inaugurate the mall on Diwali, it will all depend on the NoC,8221; said RK Aggarwal, MD, Shalimar Mall.
He added: 8220;With a three-level basement parking, the mall is located right in the heart of the city. With three movie halls with a seating capacity of 750 persons and capsule escalators, the mall will cater to all under one roof. Ans as it is situated in the heart of the city, it will further add to its nightlife.8221;
Talking to Newsline, Rajender Kataria, DC, Panchkula, said: 8220;I along with senior officials from various departments had visited the Shalimar Mall.
We have asked officials at the mall to make some changes, as per the norms and have asked them to contact us on the day the changes are carried out. We will then issue them the NoC at one go.8221;
